To commemorate World Oceans Day, JALA held its annual Ocean Ranger 2026 event on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Pantai Baru, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Bringing together the entire JALA team, the event focused on environmental conservation through a series of engaging and educational activities aimed at supporting the sustainability of coastal and marine ecosystems.
In collaboration with Rela One Day, Ocean Ranger 2026 featured two main conservation initiatives, mangrove planting and the release of sea turtle hatchlings into their natural habitat. These activities reflect JALA’s ongoing commitment to protecting coastal environments, which play an essential role in supporting local communities and the shrimp farming industry.

Beyond the conservation activities, participants also took part in a beach clean up to help remove waste that could potentially pollute the marine environment. The event became even more exciting with an amazing race, a team based game that encouraged collaboration and problem solving through a series of challenges around the beach area. “Everyone showed incredible enthusiasm throughout the day. Despite the challenging mangrove planting area and the rain, the team remained excited and fully engaged in every activity. It was a memorable experience for many of us”, said Kartika Sary, Sr. People Development & Engagement JALA.

The program also included an environmental conservation education session led by the Rela One Day team. Participants learned about the importance of preserving coastal ecosystems, the role of mangroves in protecting shorelines, and practical actions that individuals can take to contribute to environmental sustainability.
Liris Maduningtyas, CEO of JALA shared that the event is part of the company's long term effort to create a positive impact on the environment. "This is the third year that JALA has contributed to World Oceans Day initiatives. We hope to plant even more mangroves in the years ahead and create lasting benefits for the environment", said Liris.
Through Ocean Ranger 2026, JALA aims to continue raising awareness about the importance of protecting marine and coastal ecosystems while encouraging more people to participate in meaningful environmental conservation efforts. The event concluded with a dinner gathering, providing an opportunity for participants to celebrate a day of collaboration and conservation together.

As a solutions provider supporting the shrimp industry's value chain from upstream to downstream, JALA believes that business sustainability and healthy marine ecosystems go hand in hand. Through initiatives like Ocean Ranger, JALA remains committed to supporting environmental conservation as part of its long term contribution toward a healthier and more sustainable ocean.
