JALA is proud to announce that Rabo Foundation has renewed its support for JALA, reaffirming their confidence in our mission to build a sustainable and resilient aquaculture industry in Indonesia.

This renewed partnership follows Rabo Foundation’s initial collaboration in 2023 and marks an important step forward in our shared vision to transform shrimp aquaculture through innovation, technology, and farmer empowerment.

Despite challenges faced by the global shrimp industry, including price fluctuations, oversupply, and disease risks. We believe this collaboration reinforces a long-term commitment to driving sustainable growth and strengthening farmer resilience.

Why we remain confident in aquaculture’s potential:

  • Shrimp continues to be one of the fastest-growing sources of animal protein worldwide.
  • Asia, and Indonesia in particular, plays a central role in global production, with significant opportunities for productivity improvement.
  • Global buyers are increasingly demanding sustainability and traceability areas where technology-driven solutions like JALA are well-positioned to deliver.

Backing JALA’s Mission

Rabo Foundation’s continued support enables JALA to further its mission of empowering shrimp farmers through innovation and technology. With this collaboration, JALA continues to provide data-driven tools and integrated support across the value chain. Through our farm management app, water quality monitoring devices, and access to farm supplies, markets, and expert guidance, we enable farmers to improve productivity, reduce risks, and adopt more sustainable practices.

Our Climate Smart Shrimp Farming (CSSF) initiative further demonstrates how innovation and environmental responsibility can work hand in hand to promote climate resilience and resource efficiency in aquaculture.

A Shared Vision for Impact

This continued collaboration with Rabo Foundation highlights our mutual commitment to strengthening the broader aquaculture ecosystem. Together, we aim to strengthen the capacity of shrimp farmers across Indonesia to adapt to environmental and market challenges, helping them thrive in global value chains and contribute to a more transparent, sustainable, and equitable seafood industry. “By supporting these ecosystems today, we’re helping aquaculture navigate current challenges and laying the groundwork for more resilient, long-term outcomes.” Anna Ignatiadi said.
