Jala is looking for an engineering manager with expertise in building, developing, and crafting simple, delightful product experiences that can help farmers manage their shrimp farms, increase their productivity, and create sustainable farms. You will join the Product team that is working on developing a digital platform for shrimp farmers to record the cultivation data, monitor their farm performance, and get actionable insights to minimize the risk of failure in shrimp farming.
Roles & Responsibilities
Partnering with engineering, product, and design leaders to shape team direction and strategy.
Supporting and driving this strategy to clear impact with the help of your team.
Enabling your team to achieve high levels of productivity, performance and reliability.
Teaching, mentoring, coaching, and being a role model for engineers and other product managers.
Creating a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team culture focused on fast, focused, high-impact execution.
Helping to shape and evolve our engineering culture by contributing to our engineering organization programs.
Ad-hoc coding. To be an effective manager we believe you need a high degree of empathy and respect. To help with this you'll be getting into the code, perhaps contributing to the team's project, or working on some automation scripts.

Able to lead software engineering teams that deliver impact quickly.
Experience managing product software engineers.
Good technical background in software engineering. You have first-hand experience developing software
Experience developing and supporting a team of engineers in their personal growth and career progression.
A technical understanding of web and mobile platforms, and the unique opportunities and challenges that come with shipping and maintaining web and mobile products.
Experience in shipping/delivering web and mobile apps.

A track record of partnering with product and design leadership to deliver great outcomes.
Demonstrated impact in a similar technical leadership role.
