JALA is looking for Project Officer who will be responsible to oversee adaptive and environmentally sustainable shrimp farming operations, ensure compliance with safety standards and workforce management procedures, engage with stakeholders, and manage the collection, verification, reporting, and documentation of project activities to support managerial needs and compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of adaptive and environmentally sustainable shrimp farming practices, ensuring all on-site activities comply with occupational safety standards and workforce management procedures
Act as the company’s representative in engaging with field stakeholders (farmers, local authorities, government agencies, and project partners)
Collect and verify field technical data, document activities, and prepare periodic project progress reports for managerial and compliance purposes
Be responsible for documenting all on-site activities, including stakeholder feedback and complaints
Ensure all project site activities adhere to applicable workforce management procedures and safety standards
Support consultants in conducting baseline environmental and social site assessments across project units and assist in the technical validation of Climate-Adaptive Farm modules
Skills & Capabilities
Minimum D4/Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, Environmental Management, Aquatic Resource Management, Biology, or Marine Science
Minimum 2 years of experience working directly at shrimp farming sites or in coastal conservation/community development projects
Strong understanding of Good Aquaculture Practices (GAP) or sustainability standards (e.g., waste management and water quality)
Proven experience in engaging and communicating with stakeholders, including government authorities and local communities
Project management experience is an advantage
Willing to be based in Banyuwangi and across East Java
