JALA is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Farm Technical Operation Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing succession plans, designing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and evaluating aquaculture results to devise improved strategies for upcoming cycles. Additionally, your responsibilities include overseeing all aquaculture activities at farm locations, managing budgets, and ensuring the efficient handling of farm material requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Succession Planning: Develop succession plans to ensure the availability of potential workforce in the fisheries sector.
Operational Development: Collaborate with technicians to create and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Aquaculture Management: Evaluate the progress and outcomes of aquaculture operations and plan strategies for the next cultivation cycle.
Team Development: Identify high-potential field team members and implement their development plans.
Farm Support Programs: Conduct research and develop programs to ensure best practices in shrimp farming.
Team Supervision: Supervise and develop the Pond Development Executive team.
Aquaculture Oversight: Oversee all aquaculture activities across all JALA locations.
Take responsibility for overall farm management, including budget and workforce planning.
Participate in planning sessions with farm management and operational systems teams.
Ensure the proper management of farm materials required for cultivation purposes.
Skills & Capabilities
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Marine Science, or a related field.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in aquaculture farm operations, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Strong expertise in shrimp farming operations, cultivation cycles, and farm management best practices.
Proven ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for aquaculture.
Experience in succession planning and workforce development within the aquaculture or related sector.
Demonstrated capability in budgeting, workforce planning, and resource allocation for farm operations.
Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising and developing field/technical teams.
Excellent analytical skills to evaluate farm performance, identify issues, and plan effective strategies.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams (farm management, operational systems, and other departments).
Willingness to travel frequently across multiple farm locations.
High level of professionalism, problem-solving ability, and resilience in handling challenges in aquaculture operations.
