## What Habitat Does Vannamei Shrimp Live In? 
Although vannamei shrimp are actually marine shrimp, they are widely cultivated in Indonesian farms. They are native to the eastern Pacific Ocean, particularly around Mexico to Peru. These tropical waters have a temperature of more than 20°C throughout the year.

Adult vannamei shrimp live and spawn in the open ocean. After their eggs hatch, the post larvae (PL) migrate inshore to spend their juvenile, adolescent and sub-adult stages in coastal estuaries, lagoons or mangrove areas. 

## How is the Ideal Cultivation Water Condition for Vannamei Shrimp?

Farmers just have to ensure that the cultivation water conditions are adjusted to ideal parameters for vannamei shrimp. Here are the normal ranges for parameters of cultivation water in vannamei shrimp farms:
- Temperature: 26-32°C
- Salinity: 15-30 ppt
- pH: 7.5-8.5
- DO: > 4 ppm
- Alkalinity: 100-150 ppm

Aside from these parameters, farmers also need to control the population of Vibrio in their shrimp farm at ≤ 1 x 10³ CFU/ml to reduce the risk of diseases.
