JALA is looking for a Media & Community Relations who will develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to promote the company's vision, products, and initiatives in sustainable aquaculture. The candidate must have at least 3-5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or community engagement.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to promote the company's vision, products, and initiatives in sustainable aquaculture
Craft engaging press releases, media kits, and newsletters, and manage the company's public relations activities
Organize and coordinate community outreach programs, including educational workshops, site visits, and participation in local events to foster community engagement and awareness
Monitor media coverage and industry trends to guide strategic communication and public relations efforts
Act as the company spokesperson, handling media inquiries, interviews, and press conferences
Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, community groups, and other relevant stakeholders
Manage the company’s social media presence, creating content that reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability and community involvement
Evaluate the effectiveness of media and community relations campaigns and initiatives, providing reports and recommendations for improvement
Skills & Capabilities
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or community engagement, preferably in the aquaculture or environmental sustainability sectors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to create compelling and informative content
Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
Knowledge of the aquaculture industry and sustainability practices is highly desirable
Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Willingness to travel and participate in community events outside regular working hours
